According to realtor.com, retired expats can purchase property in one of the world’s best affordable beach towns
On my monthly Relocation/Retirement Combination Tour one of the areas we visit as part of the due diligence process, is Dominical Beach. In fact, my guests and I spend the night at the beautiful Villas Río Mar resort located just upstream from the town and on the bank of the stunning Barú River. My clients really enjoy their stay in this unique area.
Once an undiscovered fishing village, Dominical has grown into one of Costa Rica’s hottest havens for expat beach lovers. The area’s natural wonders, unparalleled beauty and good surfing attract foreigners from all around the world. It comes as no surprise that Dominical is ranked as the second-best destination in the world for expats by InterNations.
The area is breaking and called “the Big Sur” of Costa Rica because the mountains come right down to the ocean.
It is no wonder that many retired expats and investors are purchasing property the Dominical area and places to south like Uvita and Ojochal.
One expat who moved to the area remarked about its beauty, “TI just love the area’s verdant rain forrest, spectacular waterfalls and pristine tropical beaches.”
As another foreigner stated, “Adventurous and free-thinking individuals will love living in the Dominical area. There is strong sense of community among expats and plenty of activities to stay busy and happy. Here you can find your own piece of paradise.”
