La Zona de los Santos is ‘the place’ for expats to savor Costa Rica’s best coffee
This unique area is located approximately two hours from the center of San José. There are some incredible scenery along the way since the road passes by old homes, coffee fields, verdant pastures and spectacular mountains.
La Zona de Los Santos is located at a perfect elevation for producing high-quality coffee. According to the Costa Rican Institute of Coffee this area is ideal for producing high-quality coffee because of its altitude of between 3900 and 6000 feet and climate. Some of the towns that grow coffee are Dota, Tarrazú and León Cortés.
