Costa Rica’s 200th Independence Day Celebration continues with a very special honor
The whole world knows about Costa Rica’s stellar reputation and enduring democratic tradition. On September 15th this unique country will celebrate its 200th anniversary. In the past I have alluded to Costa Rica as an example of sanity in a world of convulsion when compared to other nations. Rarely does one hear anything negative in the international news about the country. In fact, it is so far off the radar that there are some people who do not even know where Costa Rica is located.
It is not every day that other countries recognize Costa Rica’s 200-year accomplishment.
Furthermore, Costa Rica is Latin America’s oldest and most stable democracy without an army, thus making it very popular with foreign retirees for relocation.
On September 15th Niagara Falls will be illuminated with the three colors of the Costa Rican flag: red, white and blue. Indeed this a quite an honor.
