Costa Rica’s high vaccination rate is another factor future retirees should take into account
Costa Rica has one of the highest longevity rates in the world due to its affordable private and public health care systems.
The country is now ranked 12th worldwide and 8th in Latin Ameriaca with respect to vaccination against covid-19. Ahead of Costa Rica are only Israel, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, France, Turkey, Germany, Argentina, El Salvador, and Brazil.
Furthermore, Costa Rica does not appear among the 20 nations with the highest mortality rates per 100,000 inhabitants.
The country’s health authorities are currently administering a third dose, especially for those vaccinated during the first six months of 2021, specifically the elderly, front-line workers and those with certain health problems.
Some experts believe that herd immunity will be achieved soon.
