When is the best time to go to Costa Rica?
Anytime! Weather is not a problem since the Central Valley has a year-round spring-like climate and the weather at the beaches is warm. From May until November mornings are sunny and it usually rains for a couple of hours in the afternoon, so you can still enjoy the country.
Do you have age restrictions for your tours?
We have no official restrictions. However, the majority of our clients are adults who are interested in moving here. Our tours can be a bit grueling for some youngsters, so we ask parents carefully considers the pros and cons before signing up for a tour with their kids. There is a discount price for children provided we have room and five or more adults.
How strenuous are our tours?
You won’t have to do much walking. We have even had several handicapped people take our tours and private consultations. The tour van is not always able to pull directly up to the hotel or restaurants, so you may have to walk about one-half block at the most.
Will someone meet me at the airport?
Yes, one of our staff will be outside of the exit after your clear customs. They will be holding a sign which says, “Live in Costa Rica Tours.”
How much money should I bring?
Your hotel bill will be prepaid as will most meals. While on the tour all transportation will also be included. You will need to bring enough money to pay for extra meals, beverages, extra hotel charges, snacks, and souvenirs plus public transportation costs, entertainment, and entrance fees during your free time. Most credit and debit cards are accepted in Costa Rica. ATM machines are conveniently located. You may change dollars or traveler’s checks at the hotel or any local bank. Restaurants have a 10% service charge so you won’t need to tip.
Do I need to speak some Spanish?
Your tour guide is 100% bilingual and many locals speak some English. While it’s not necessary to speak Spanish, it is nice to master a few of the basics such as “Please”, “Thank you”, and “Where is the bathroom?” Each of the participants on our tour will receive a folder with general information about living in the country, several maps, and some basic Spanish survival phrases.
